Rabbitrunner51 12-16-2004, 12:37 AM How about a good rated RPG strategy game like Lord of The Rings: Battle for Middle Earth.... or HL 2 .or a new game just out...Chronicles of Riddick ( for PC ) iIf he has the internet and doesn't mind spending online acct. money for it..then get World of Warcraft ( another huge hit);) holoflux 12-16-2004, 12:54 AM Nice games, but it has to be a RPG. germanNiklas 12-16-2004, 07:52 AM well ok hl2 and riddick are no rpgs but if u want a REALLY REALLY good rpg get world of warcraft yes its a MMOrpg and u have to pay a monthly fee but its worth it Rob R. 12-16-2004, 08:25 AM Originally posted by holoflux Does anyone have this game yet? I am actually playing through it a second time right now. If you like RPG's, then this is a must for your collection IMO. holoflux 12-16-2004, 08:42 PM I was looking forward to it as well, but I read a review recently that wasn't so impressed - seems it's quite linear, too much fighting, level design is not so good and despite HL2 engine it's nowhere near as good looking as HL2. Would you agree with this? holoflux 12-16-2004, 09:11 PM I've never tried an MMORPG - WoW sounds like a good place to start. Do I need to pay a subscription to join a server? I'm also based in Hong Kong - would there be any lag issues if I joined an english-speaking server in the US? Sorry for the newbie questions. Rob R. 12-16-2004, 10:36 PM Yeah the reviews were poor for it. I am not sure why to be honest with you. I can tell you that 1 gig of memory is absolutely needed to run it correctly. It is somewhat linearas there is very much a story line to follow through based on quests and sub-quests but then, that's ever RPG I have ever played. WoW is free for the first month and then it's $12 - $15/month thereafter. It is supposed to be the best MMO made to date according to the reviews I have read. SysOpt.com
