Hi,
I have a problem with my e-mail, I can send mail but I can not receive mail also the connection has become very slow, there are a 130 emails to come through. Also today when I tryed to connect, the dial up box keeps saying "can not connect line busy" I have checked all phones and they are not being used. Some times an answer machine with a message waiting can cause this but we only have a fax machine.

I am running:

Windows XP Home

Dial up connection

Running Norton antivirus and fire wall.

I am not sure if Norton could be the problem

I am thinking of using system restore to take me back to see if I can clear this problem????

Kind regards

Do you have a line with voice mail? If so put 2 or 3 commas "," infront of the number. This will create a pause for 2 seconds for each comma. That will bypass the voice message waiting tone.

Did you recently change or upgrade your phone system? Do you need to dial a number to access an outside line?

Connecting to the internet is the first step. Then the mail troubleshooting can be second if it is not fixed.
