adaptec directCD help

hello. i'm trying to backup my hard drive using adaptec directcd to copy onto my cdrw.
upon ejecting the cd, there is a choice to make the cd be able to read on other cdrom drives. everytime i select that option, there always a disc error in converting the cd to be able to read in other cdrom. i tried using different brands of cdr's and still the same. does anybody know what might be wrong?

DirectCD isn't the best app to record to a CDr. I like just using EZ CD to burn the files, this way you have normal CDFS that works in all other cd-r devices.

I only got Direct CD to work on about 1 out of every 3 PC's I tried it on. I gave up installing it!
