Seems like a rip to me. $488.99US dollars for a XT800 pro. I know your stuff up there isn’t that much. Web site is kinda cheesy too. Unit 15. Let me guess, you go down to the basement of mom’s house to get checked out. :p There has to be better places than that.
Edit: I mean come on, you don’t have major retailers up there or what?
No clue... Unless stores like compusmart counts. I don't know of any actual *"real"* computers stores or retailers around.

I ALWAYS hit the mom and pop local establishments before going to the major retailers. Even if it costs a few bucks more its worth it.
And I don't know anything about computer stores in Canada.

Mom and Pop shops are cool, just not some 40 year old guy running a shop out of moms’ basement. Not that I know that to be the case with this scenario.
You wouldn’t spend a $499 on a video card at a small shop that you could go to best buy, compusa, or frys and get for $399.
And yes, I too don't know much about the stores up there. I do know they come over at night and steal our cheese. :D

Thats too funny.
If I'm going to buy something like that and I can't get a reasonable price at the local shop by my house I buy it off of Newegg. BestBuy is never the best buy. The local shop here tends to give me excellent deals, many times even cheaper than I can find on Newegg because of the amount of business I throw their way.

If the only reason you cannot buy online is credit card related, you may want to look into www.ncix.com and www.atic.ca both of which are in Vancouver.
NCIX can be set up for electronic bill payment through most major Canadian banks and Atic uses CertaPay which allows you to email in an Interac payment. So as long as you have a bank account with CIBC, RBC, TD, Scotiabank or BoM you should be just fine.
Hope this helps.
