Broadband connection sharing, can I limit bandwidth on each pc?

I have a very basic network..set up with the help of you guys..
On my main PC I have a broadband internet connection. I want to share this with one other PC on the network ( in fact there are only the two pc's at mo )
I have the modem/router on order but wondered if there was any way to limit the bandwidth available to the 2nd PC.
With work, I need a lot of bandwidth and dont want it messed up if my son decides he wants to download the latest demo or go playing online.
