Have you folks seen the Kanguru Zipper 4.0 GB Hard Drive? They also make a 1.0 GB and a 2.2 GB drive. But, the 4.0 GB HD is only $160 with free S/H from ECost.com!!

I've read 3 editor's reviews of this new high-capcity gadget ... and I'm impressed.

Shoot ... I paid $175 for my 512MB Verbatim USB Key 1.5yrs ago. DA!%$#$!!

Does anyone have any experience with the Kanguru Zipper HD's?

Here's more info (albeit on the 2.2GB version):

Looks good, but I'm not sure how durable it is. Since it has mechanical parts, I would think it is more prone to failure than a flash drive.

And since it is a mechanical hard drive, you'll want to treat it a little more gingerly than a flash-based storage device.

You present a good point Midknyte! Now, if only the 1 GB to 2 GB USB Keys would come down under $200 in cost! The new Disk-on-key from m-sys.com looks awesome and is 2 GB.

I thought I saw some 1GB flash drives for under $100 now. I think it was Sandisk, but it might have been Lexar or another brand.
