m about to purchase a ASUS P5GD1 PRO motherboard which is available in my country as a package with an ASUS N5750 128MB PCX GFX CARD, im coupling this sytem initially with a p4 3.0 256mb stick of kingston ram, which one is better for overclokcing a 2.5cl or 3cl ram. actually pls do not recomend any other brand of memory except samsung or flash as thats all we have available in my country.all i know is here the kingston rams really gud overclockers and also asus has also come out wid the multiplier unlocking bios and that bios update also supports this mobo.
nyways furthermore as this is a pci-e board will i require any different form of casing and powersupply, and also wat is the minimum power supply u guys recomend as i will be running 2 hard drives and 2 cd rom drives on this system also considering overclocking.lastly the ultimate question the board specs specify
Intel ICH6R South Bridge:
- 1 x UltraDMA 100/66/33
- 4 x Serial ATA support Intel Matrix Storage Technology, RAID 0, 1 support
Accessories InterVideoŽ WinDVD Suite (Gold Version only)
2 x Serial ATA cable
1 x SATA power cable
1 x 2-port USB2.0 / Game module
1 x UltraDMA 133/100/66 cable
1 x IDE cable
1 x FDD cable
i have 2 ata hard drives both ata66 and also 1 cd rom drive and one cd-rw drive which i am planning to use on the system.can this motherboard take in all these hardrives and cdroms or i will have to settle for a sata drive.
i am currently running all this stuff on a ca810e mobo. furthermore i have never understood the concept of primary ide master slave etc all that stuff, anyone wanna tell me about that stuff i wud really be thnkful.
BTW will running all thse drives through one channel make them perform slower or they wud be as slow as they always r.
P.S forgive my noobism but will a mini atx casing be fine for this baord.
link for board.
