I´ve got a serious problem while booting my system. I´m using a DFI K6XV3+ (VIA MVP3)mobo with 128 MB SDRAM PC-100 and 512kb L2 Cache. My HDD is an IBM DTTA 351010 10,1 GB 5400U7min UDMA33. Now my problem:
Sometimes when i´m trying to boot my mobo can´t detect the HDD. The message HDD fail appears or simply nothing happens and the system hangs up while promptimg me Configuration table. This happens only from time to time. The IDE autodetection detected the IBM everytime and wrote it to the Standard CMOS Setup. I´ve tried many configs. I´ve changed the HDD to the same (mirroring the partitions): it hapnnes the same; changing the IDE-Cable to a new one: the ...; trie a new BIOS, got the newest: the...
Could anyone help me?
Could ist be that the mbr of the HDD is defect and therefore the strange things happnes? Should I use fdisk /mbr?
