I have an old 486 running DOS 6.22 that developed an odd problem- it won't boot from the C: drive anymore. If I boot from a floppy, I can access C: drive and run Norton's Disk Doctor, which says all is OK!
I have checked the Bios boot settings. When powered up you can see the Award bios, but it won't make it to "Starting MSDOS". It just sits there blank with a blinking cursor.
I have run MSDOS 6.22's included antivirus program- nothing found.
I manualy Sys C:'d- NG.
Reinstalled dos- NG.
Last resort would be repartition & format, but I would like to know what happened!
Any thoughts?

Is there such a thing in DOS? I know of this trick in 95 & 98, but I didn't hear of it in dos!
