I want to hook up my front USB to my motherboard. On the wires it has;
Data+1
Data-1
Data-2
Data+2
Gnd-1
Gnd-2
VCC-1
VCC-2
This goes well with my USB Connectors;
1.USBVCC
2.USBVCC
3.USBP4-
4.USBP5-
5.USBP4+
6.USBP5+
7.GND
8.GND
9.KEY (Cut Away)
10.NC (No Connetion)
The confusing part is on the wires comming from the Front Panel USB has a Tage that has;
1.VCC-1
2.DATA-1
3.DATA+1
4.GND 1
SHELL
5.VCC-2
6.DATA-2
7.DATA+2
8.GND 2
SHELL

This does not match with what I have. My User's Guide says; "Please make sure that the USB Cable has the same Pin Assignment as indiacated above......"

I don't want to wreck this board. Does it seem like the Wires comming off the Front USB don't have the same Pin Assignment?
Thank you, Chris.

I have run into that my self. It seems there is more then one way to label them and more then one type of connector on motherboards. See if this guide helps...http://www.frontx.com/cpx101_2.html

The 5th pins are unneeded.

Use Vcc to Vcc, plus to plus, minus to minus and GND to GND. The "1" and "2" are sides or banks. Keep the 1s on one side and 2s on the other.

Thanks for replying. What threw me off was the tag that was different. I opened the case to hook up the wires just like you suggested. I was about half way done when I saw the tag. I'll go ahead and hook it up the original way.
Thanks again for replying, Chris.
