When I first installed windows 98 Internet Explorer as well as Outlook Express and AOL IM all automaticaly launched DUN and dialed my SP when they were run. As I've been building up my system (this started out as a fresh Win98 install) I've found that IE no longer launched the dial-up app. How can I make it do so?

Jeff,
What Version of IE are you using?
If IE 5 then what you need to do is open IE5 then click on TOOLS then click on INTERNET OPTIONS then Click on the CONNECTIONS tab and from there choose "DIAL whenever Network connection is not avaliable" or "always Dial" sometimes IE just forgets and you need to rechoose your "options" http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif
Good Luck.

Mntsnow-
Thanks for your responce. I have IE 5 (since it comes with Win98). I forgot to put this in the original message but I DO have the option "Always dial my default connection" checked. It has been checked since I insatlled it. It still doesn't work. Any more ideas?

Jeff,
Try choosing one of the othre options then clicking "apply" then RECHOOSE Dail my default" and clicking "apply"
Like I said I have had to do this a couple of times till IE "remembered" what it was supposed to do.
Good Luck...

ps...you could also try running thru the "internet connection wizard" again and have it reset your connection type that way.

If you've 98, it comes with IE 4. IE5 only comes with 98SE (I'm pretty sure- my 98 had 4- I had to d/l IE5)
If you do have IE5, there is a *repair tool* for Internet Explorer, listed in the add remove programs- dont ask me why MS hid it there, could be easily confused with an unistall option. Just click on it the repair option comes up.
Hope that helps.

The repair tool rookie is talking about can also be ran by typing this line in the run box
rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE5Maintenance "C:\Program Files \Internet Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINDOWS\IE Uninstall Log.Txt"
