You don't know how to shop. I just bought a 80 gb Seagate Barracuda SATA 8mb drive for $31.00 on EBay. It was listed as a Mac harddrive. :D

I usually buy LARGE HDs, with at least a 3 year warranty. I backup between drives, including LARGE mobile firewire drives (I carry ½TB). 'Course I'm backin' up over 200GB of music (original and extensive CD collection), but I like the longer warranties and the xtra speed and room of the larger drives, as well as the longer warranties. ;)

Thats pretty expensive. I can get a shiny new 120Gb with 3yr warranty for about the same price. Is computer gear especially expensive in your neck of the woods? or do you just not shop around at all and take the first part you see regardless of the price?

This one's better (8MB cache vs 2MB) and cheaper:

But yeah, computer stuff is expensive here :(

Being an OEM drive, can sometimes mean that you only get 1 year of cover instead of 3 for a retail one (bit like AMD cpus)
