If so, how is it done? George Bleeding Edge 07-18-1999, 08:30 PM It works thru a parallel port pass-thru. An adapter type interface similar to a hardware lock. There is a connection to attach the printer cable after the Zip. I'm not familiar with the design of the parallel Zip so the pass-thru might be there on the back of the Zip.. Bob-NB 07-19-1999, 05:01 PM if there is no pass througgh on the zip, you can simply by a dial rotator switch (or box( at your local store and switch it back and forth to the device needed. kwai 07-19-1999, 05:11 PM yup, it is on the back (looks just like the external scsi version, so you have to be careful what kind of cable you plug into it). so you plug your zip into the parallel port on the computer, and you plug your printer into the parallel port on the back of the zip drive. some printers that are picky about bidirectional communication (hewlett packard's laserjets?) have trouble with a passthru setup, so i would check out iomega's tech (and your printer companies') support pages first to see if your printer has any reported problems.
