I thought that I got a clean reload of Win 95B on my sister-in-laws computer and bypassed the "test printer" and went on re-loading all the programs. Upon concluding, and testing the printer...it didn't work. After uninstalling the printer and its programs and trying to re-load..again the printer wouldn't respond. I finally got the message that there was a problem in the print spooler. I realize that this is a functional part of win 95, but is there some way to remove all traces of the spooler from the registry and re-install only the print spooler part of win 95 or is it necessary to wipe all again and try for a clean install?
The system is a gateway Pll 266 with 64 meg ram, win 95B, with cannon BJ 4300 printer. I fdisked the 6.4G HD, formated it, and took the time to install the UATA drivers for the integrated bus master, and set-up her USB ports...all of which I would like to avoid having to mess with again if I can find a short-cut to fix the spooler, Any help is appreciated.

You should probably just re-install windows at the dos prompt, your spooler might have a missing file.

Thanks

I took the short-cut for now by by-passing the print spooler and printing directly to the printer with the printer set-up at printer defaults. I had hoped for some short-cut to re-build the spooler w/o having to re-work or reload win95B. It works and she is happy it does. It probably won't be long before the system crashes again so I might as well wait til next time.
