While i play this game alot lately I have noticed a couple of moves in the game I never do , because i con't know how( maybe the manual explains?).

One is when everybody keeps dissappearing and reapperaing..like some transport mode or something...( flash and their gone and then reappear )

The other is the jump move where you flip up in the air...

These are both probably keyboard commands....I would think

Thanksd for the answers...  ;)

IIRC, double tapping in a direction will make you dodge, and if you jump and double tap you can push off a wall...as for the transporting thing, I think you need to be using the transporter weapon to do that, you launch the thing in the air, and when you click again, you get transported to wherever the projective is.

Yeah the teleporter gun is incredible when people know how to use it, but its easier said than done

*Edit*
Darn 10 min rule, i meant "wherever the projectile is", not "wherever the projective is" :)

It doesn't seem to say anything about the control features i asked about above in the users manual ..just the tap tap thing and personally it doesn't do a whole lot of any good to me.....

One of the main reasons I got this game is the incredible array of maps they have and I think its just amazing the designers were so expansive as the maps are just spectcular in alot of the scenarios both single and all its modes and mutiplayer..which I only see about seven maps or so..and i know there are so many more than that. The artwork is superb. I can see why this game is now one of the ones they compare for graphics cards...

By the looks of the MP ladders of servers....I bet more peole are playing HL2 or something right now......but mostly I play ( UT 04 ) on four or five main maps....

The single player is actually harder than any MP . The AI is really good and very competitive. It takes everything I got.. a few times, to beat some of the foes...esp. the four and five player sets.

Younger kids would have a ball with this game...;)

The "flip" thing is actually just a normal jump AFAIK - your character does it, but the viewpoint doesn't rotate or anything.

maybe try going into 3rd person perspective to try out moves, that way you can see the effect they have on your character. Then you will be good to go in 1st person.

The teleporting is the translocator, it is not a weapon, you just throw it and whereever it is in the air you press the button again and you appear there. If you are really good you can throw it, teleport in mid air, and while you are in the air throw it again etc etc. When you do this you can get really high.

OH but is a weapon and a powerful weapon it is too. So powerful in fact that the makers of UT have limited its use to 5 throws in rapid succession because you could kick A** big time.
Throw it at a player and quickly translocate to their location, you will telefrag them, instantly killing them regardless of how healthy or armored up they where. Master this and you'll find that people suddenly don't like you anymore. :t

Thanks for the good answers.... I don't know if I ever have used or seen this teleporting weapon....Is it in the normal arsenal racks or ??

I do OK mostly without all of this ..but its like any game where you want to know and use the full arsenal at your disposal....

Have gotten through the first two of the five levels ( many in each ) ,and part way through the other two.....where the main keylock is starting to open or get filled in.... I bet that will be fun when I get into that. :p ;)

To my knowledge, the translocator is only available in capture the flag and team based games and possibly with mutators.

This is indeed true for single player mode.
in mutiplayer mode its available for almost all game types and is activated via the setup options.

You guys play DM at all online? Look for me, DropdaChalupa. I started playing two days ago after a 6+ month hiatus. Didn't do so well in my first couple matches but got back in the swing of things the last couple games.

I can't seem to get into team games like CTF, onslaught, etc. I guess im just not a team player :D

OK...I located the translocator in the CTF mode...in one of the levels..and tried to use it..and I'm sure i need some more practice with it....have to learn how to use it....

Kinda strange how they hide it in a place thats not obvious...

Anyway, this game is one that can get you caught with your pants down,as if your not up to being alert and withit,so to speak. You can get tanked pretty easily.

This game is one that anyone can play..and keep busy for hours. So many diferent modes and levels.

Really glad i got it. Always a good time to come back to if other online games get boring or tiring...

I just never cease to be amazed at the maps and graphics..
