video card recomendations

I'd like to get a good video graphics card so I can play(at least) most of these new fangled games..LOL.. what I'm looking for price wise is something not to cheap but not ultra expensive and can play most games with...:cool:

What's your system specs looking like right now? And by "not too cheap but not ultra expensive", would you say that 150-250 range is ok?

well I've got a pieced together momma..800mhz processor 512 ram, XP Professional...nothing fancy..and by cheap I was hoping for something around 100 to 150 dollars maybe..

I'm thinking either a 9600xt or a plain 6600

Both of the cards have the capability of playing the new games at decent settings, but I think that CPU will hold you down big time.

Yea, I think my cpu will bog me down too..but it will have to do til I can come up with something better..:(

If your next major system upgrade still includes a motherboard with an AGP slot, then one of these cards will do just fine to hold you over.

see if you get money for christmas, also just big a whole system,, know you i thougth you would have a 3.4 ghz,with 2gig ram, 200 gig hdd,and a Geforce fx 6800 ultra, 16x dvd-burner,

i would have never thouht of oyu have only a 800mhz with 512:r :r :r :r
