Hi, got a prob with the modem. While connected to the internet the modem works fine for about 30 minutes and then after that i have to disconnect and re connect to the internet because the modem stops downloading webpages and what ever it is doing right then but still stays connected to the internet. Have a Cirrus Logic 56K V.90/X2 internal modem.
Thanks

Howdy....I occasionally have the same problem, sometimes with a Creative 56K/V90, and sometimes with my USR 56K/V90. I think it has more to do with phone line conditions, rather than your modem. With a quick hang-up and re-dial and re-connect, all works well. I did have problems with my sister-in-laws USR after a driver update to V90, with constant hanging up, due to phone line conditions (even though a line test said all was OK to use v90 since the ISP had also converted), but I guess that is another thread...and different than your difficulty.
I'd look at the ISP. I had the same problem just last night. I was online for a couple of hours, then it stopped. Not even a reboot would fix it. I guess you really get what you pay for with these budget local ISPs...

The problem here is with "retrains", and the way the Cirrus Logic chipset handles speed fluctuations due to line noise. Basically, it sucks. Get a new modem. A generic LT winmodem will work better than your Cirrus.
