I want to order the Yamaha 4416SXZ CD/RW (External), scsi adapter, and scsi cable at the same time. Which adapter and cable should I get?

So far, all I know is that the 4416SXZ has a Fast SCSI-2 interface (50 pin, I beleive). I assume this would be a High Density 50 pin connector with "Thumb screws." Would this be correct? Or would it be a Centronic type connector, or with "Squeeze tabs?"

The same question for the adapter end of the scsi cable.

I am considering the Adaptec AHA-2920, 2930, and 2940UW scsi adapter. Any recommendations for the adapter and cable would be appreciated.

Truthfully Bobby
you need to decide how much you want to get into SCSI. you are correct in thinking the yamaha burner uses a 50 pin connector. if you are not truely planning on in the future to use Ultra Wide scuzzy drives then why go to the expense of buying a UW card? for my Plextor 8x burner I am using a SIIG #AP-10 card that is Fast2 (50 pin internal and 50 pin High Density external) and it HAS ONBOARD BIOS so you can also BOOT from this card! Cost me $59 bucks from CompUSA 3 weeks ago!

To get the type of connector that you will need for the external burner you will need to get the actual part # of the burner you are planning on getting and then hit the web and download the spec's
