Antivirus change now problem

I am running Winxp sp2 and have just changed from the trial version of Norton antivirus 2005 to Macafee v 8.01 (My work has a site license, which covers home use. We are a university...:>))..

Anyway, I have been getting this error when running certain programs since the change:

"Progra~1\symantec\S32EVNT.DLL. An installable virtual device driver failed DLL instialization. Choose close to terminate the application" box with choice to CLOSE/IGNORE.

If I choose ignore, the application works fine; if I choose close, the application does not open.

I know this has something to do with the uninstallation of NAV2005 because if I uninstall Mcafee, and reinstall NAV, the problem goes away.

Is there more to removing NAV than running the uninstall program?

Any insite would be greatly appreciated....
