Anyone Have an Asus 40x CD-ROM Drive?

I just installed a S&F 6x/24x CD-R/W drive and it's really quiet compared to my 40x Asus CD-ROM drive.

Is the Asus drive exceptionally noisy or do I just have a bad one?

Well, the 1st one spins at 24X max and the Asus spins at 40x max... that's almost twice as fast...
I think that's a good reason why the Asus is a bit more noisy.

All the PC at work come with an Asus 40x CD-Rom. It is just a great CD-Rom.

I've got that CD-ROM. It sounds like a lawnmower, but it's really fast. Don't worry; it's supposed to be that way.
