Display Resolution

I have a PC100 M598 System Board with onboard 64-bit 3D VGA Graphics Accelerator.
It supports high resolution graphic modes up to 1600x1200. When ever I try to change the resolution it says it is going to re-size and then just defaults back to the lowest setting (640x480). Can anyone help me with this.

your monitor may not support this high resolution. Set your refresh rate on the optimal setting if you have one. Then increase resolution one level at a time until the monitor goes blank.

The last setting is the resolution your monitor sepports.

If this doesn't work reinstall are video drivers.
