I have and see internet connected in the Belkin 54g router but networked computers can not connect to the internet. The signal strength is strong and speed is high at 54Mps (this is because I have the laptop directly next to the router). Connection is clearly evident but simply unable to connect my IE web browser to the internet.
In the config screen for the router (web based) it shows connected however the DHCP only lists the primary computer.
I have:
restarted both computers
reset router
restarted router
deleted all MAC and security
I am stumped....incidently I am running Windows XP Home SP2 with firewall enabled and IE an exception. I did have it working previously but now no connection .....
Help

Disable the firewall on the two computers. The router should be set as the firewall.

what IPs are you getting at the workstations? do you have proper dns information? are you using dhcp or static ips?

Thks for the input....
My problem is now solved. I reset each computer to dynamic IP vs static on one, as well as renaming my network and removing all security settings in the router. Once I had the network working I increased the security however, was not able to get one of the computers to access the internet with any level of security. The windows mgmt software for the wireless network would not show anything but WEP or disabled as options in the encryption mode. In view of this problem I determined my issue was software related and uninstalled all evidence of Belkin on the system including within the registry and reinstalled the software. As I previously had a regular wireless card at 11Mbps I ensured every bit of the Belkin software was removed as I was of the opinion the Belking 11Mbps software was the route cause of my problem.
Turns out I was right on install the encryption options expanded to WPA which enabled full security input and the systems are all running perfectly.
phewww....that was long but hopefully will help someone else.
