ECC stands for Error Check Control and is an extra function for the ram to perform.

I once read about why it's available, decided I don't need it, but forget who does. Engineers & CAD, I think...

30?? wow..it was 5 bucks difference for me So i thought it was better and got it..I dont think i ever needed it cuz i shut off the function when i got a 128 stick cuz it wasnt ECC..and ive had no problems..I dont think ECC is worth it no matter what (cept in special jobs as Ygod pointed out)
