I am using IE this week. Used Firefox last week. I am not an engineer but with IE I get no popups. I have ActiveX on demand only with IE so that problem isn't a worry. I refuse cookies with both. Going to accept a cookie for an appropriate site is a little easier with Firefox.

I downloaded Firefox last week and used it. If I had a use for tabbed browsing I'd probably still be using it but the photos that don't appear--as with EBay--and the sites that I couldn't access--ones that require ActiveX--made going back to IE the thing for me to do.

Test them for yourself

Browser Security Tests (http://www.google.com/search?q=Browser+security+test&sourceid=mozilla-search&start=0&start=0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official)

firefox does have it's vulberabilities. You shouldn't just be blase about security with it and assume it's more secure.

Both can be perfectly secure with the right precautions.
