I know how to change it (startup folder and msconfig) but how do u change the order it starts up in? I have alota stuff in my systray and would like to organize it so its easier to glance at. If theres no way to do this is there a program that can arrange the Systray Icon order?

I just found this the other day. And the best part is, you probably already have it. If you have Win98 look on the CD under the main directory goto folders...TOOLS / RESKIT / DESKTOP. In here you'll find a couple utilties for the systray. I think the QUICKTRAY one could be configured to do exactly what you want it to do. Seems like you can configure Windoze to load ONLY quicktray upon startup, then quicktray would load whatever it was configured to load from it's data file. Here's a paste from the help on Quicktray:

"Quick Tray is a utility that allows you to create your own menu of favorite programs, documents, URLs, or other resources, and presents that menu as a series of small icons in the system tray of your Windows 98 desktop. This provides a simple, organized, and convenient way to start or switch between commonly used applications.
Note Quick Tray stores the information about your custom system tray menu in the Quiktray.Dat file, located in the same directory as QUIKTRAY.EXE. This file is created the first time you run Quick Tray, and can be edited with a text editor. You can also use the Quick Tray data file to create standard Quick Tray menus for multiple computers. See Quick Tray tips for more information.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbspAuraEdge: I have a little utility called TRAY.EXE that will work. You need a line in a batch file for each icon you want in the tray and then add a shortcut to the batch file in the startup folder and it will load up the tray each time you start. Cannot remember where I got it but I will e-mail it if you send me your address. 23K .zip file

...4 taskbars?!??
The ones nexta the start button is the quicklaunch menu...a row of shortcuts to whatever stuff you use the most..The Taskbar is the thing with the active programs, Next to the quicklaunch. The System Tray is the box nexta the clock...
Now whats this about 4 task bars?

Your right about the quicklaunch menu. What I should of said you can create a quicklaunch on all four sides of your screen.

Sorry my error.

I figured out a way after reading that post. Make another toolbar, like the address bar, on your regular taskbar. Then, drag where is says "Address" to a different side of the screen. Simple, eh?

Just like ELI said, I discovered it a couple of days ago its part of the active desktop. You can make another toolbar on the taskbar then just click and drag it off the taskbar and put it anywhere with the same special features of the regular taskbar. You can also change the size of the area of your quicklaunch bars.

I'm a little confused on which icons your are refering to. I have two sets of icons on my taskbar:
1.) The ones by the clock
2.) The ones by the start - button.

By the way did you know you can make 4 taskbars on your screen at the same time.

I just explained Toolbars the other day to a friend of mine. Gave him step by step instructions, complete with graphics http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif, check it out:

From MickySoft:
"This section describes the following files involved in Windows 95 system startup:

·IO.SYS, which is the real-mode operating system that replaces the MS-DOS version; VMM32 and Windows 95 device drivers take control from IO.SYS

·MSDOS.SYS, which contains special information for Windows 95 and is also created for compatibility with applications that require this file to be present before they can be installed

·CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT

·SYSTEM.INI and WIN.INI

·BOOTLOG.TXT, the log file that describes the system startup processes."

You might be able to control the order in which things startup by re-arranging items in the win.ini file that start with "load" or "run."
