Here's my question.

With my old Soundblaster and CDROM, the cable has a black end to the cdrom and a white, smaller end that plugs into the soundcard.

I bought another soundcard recently (little better.. atleast has wavetable and stuff.. and is 2x as small as the old soundblaster). I put the old soundcard into the networked computer downstairs (kept the old cdaudio cable in it). Well, the new soundcard it has the same port as the soundblaster for the cdaudio cable. However, the new cd audio cable that came with my 40x cdrom has 2 black ends (almost looks like it's supposed to go from the cdrom to another cdrom?) There's no where to plug it in.. it's too big to fit in the slots.. any ideas?

That some new type of port or something?

There are not 4 pins sticking up anywhere? Perhapse labeled AUX1? If not, look on the old sound card, if neither of them have an AUX I will be surprised, since all 4 of mine have one.

You just need another cable like the first.

Many soundcards use the second type of cable connection.
