When closing or restarting both '95 and '98 I get while error box saying msgsrv has stopped working---"close" or "ignore"
"Ignore" does nothing "Close" brings up 2nd box saying "performed illegal operation" Click ok there and I can shut down but it's annoying. Any ideas?????

This is just a thought.

The file may have become corrupt. It is I would find out what app is loading it and either reinstall that app or if its a windows file extract that file with 'sfc' and place it over the existing file.

Another thought... If you have TweakUI installed w/Win98, go to Repair and hit Repair System Files. I've done this on two error occasions, and things have worked fine after that! If it's msgsrv32.exe, it's a Windows/System file.
