I am getting this weird problem. I have a IBM 10GB harddisk (7200 rpm). Whenever I install a large program, it will it an error whereby I am told that data cannot be written to the harddisk.

However, when surface scan is performed (both using the one from Win98 and Norton), no disk errors were reported.

What is wrong. Am I missing something?

It sounds like a processor problem, assuming that the 10 gig hard drive is formatted properly. (anything over 8.4gig is a little tricky) Are you overclocking your processor? A hot processor will return the error you are getting while trying to perform a difficult task like loading a large file.. Hope this helps.....
