we have been getting alot of people calling in lately at work that cannot access modems or routers or internet connections, on way around this is to have them hook up with a dialer, (dsl) and they are able to connect,

Now all these computer have sp2 installed and one thing i have been noticing is that none show a default gateway when connected throught a router

what i have tried:
1: rebuild tcp/ip
2 delete winsock folders,
3: statically assign ip address and gateway

none of these seem to correct the problem

any help appreciated,

forum it may help.

Are they running a firewall on the gateway PC ?

If it is zonealarm, The fix is there in the thread....

I have updated quite a few PC's to SP2 and had no ICS issues.

First of all check network conectivity to the clients if that is okay turn of the gateway firewall (for testing, turn back on afterwards)and check ICS on the clients again, this will prove/disprove whether it is a firewall realted issue ....

Let us know how it goes..

its not a gateway pc that im talking about
It the default gateway when you do a ipconfig it should show what your router ip address but it doesnt it shows nothing and there for you cannot access your router

Ps no firewalls on any of these computers
