it seems that i have updated a wrong full english version of internent explorer over my german one. the background wqas the fact that updating iexplorer with service pack 1 on windowsupdate-site failed. even downloading via setupfile.
when i want to install a popup is telling me that there is not enough space and strange size figures which i cannot understand are showing.
i cannot run pandasoftware-online. iexplorer error is shown.

Can you uninstall the english version of IE from Add/Remove programs? Mine is listed as Internet Explorer and Internet Tools. Might have Microsoft before Internet.
There is a way to downlaod IE as a flat install. I will see if I can find the switches to do it. Once it is downloaded you may be able to install it. The standard setup only connects to the web to download you version - english - again. Just make sure you have the IE6 German Download version of IE6SETUP.EXE
Here is the instructions. This version can be installed withotu an internet connection, burned to a cd or whatever:

i software-section is a 63 kb program called internet explorer 6.
i downloaded and executed the full english version.
i cannot find a full german version. i will retry search.
when i have found should i remove that program and wait further instructions or do what is advised on the mentioned site?
i have a lot of pre-sp4-hotfixes listed. i had downloaded them seperately.

I just want to be clear that we are on the same page. If you go to the Microsoft site and download the German language version of IE and use this command from the previous instructions:
"C:\Downloads\ie6setup.exe" /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E"
You can actually downlaod your own version of IE and save it to disk. You can then run it whenever you want so you do not need to search for it in the future.
Since you now have a full German versiion of IE, try to install the version. See if it will work.
Did you try uninstalling? If IE was not listed, a search on Sysopt can reveal a tweak that will allow you to see many MS apps that were not in Add/Remove programs before.

after going back to iexplorer 5, i could install all files. but in several steps. second step was going to windowsupdate-site manually.
thank you very much. you have saved me.
NB:
unfortunately pandasoftware-onlinescan is still not working....

onlinescan of pandasoftware is not working on at least two winme-pcs.
adjusting browser-security-settings matching with the ones in the working pcs does not help. during loading this popup will show-up(attached)
deactivating outpost firewall does not help.

It seems from readin you last post that you are having an invalid page fault or protection fault in an unknown module.
Since you said it is happeing on 2 computers, maybe there is a software conflict on these two PC's.
I have never used Panda Scan but I would start looking at ActiveX or Visual Basic runtime files.
Maybe a format and reinstall could help fix this.
I am at a loss. Thjese kinds of problems are hard to fix remotely.
