The face poser is the one which looks the most interesting to me. IIRC, the source engine has something built in that will take an ordinary wav file and create the actual mouth motions of the characters in game. I can't wait for there to be an option to replace the "OK lets go" of the hostages in CS: S with some of rap song, I think that would just look hilarious. :D Not to mention hopefully getting a look at all the facial code for the eyes, reflectivity, etc.

I briefly played around with the Farcry kit, was pretty fun. Im by no means a designer or coder, but its pretty fun to mess with some scripts.

I've never made a map before in my life, but in the past two hours fiddling around with Hammer, I was actually able to create a working CS: S map. Go figure...obviously it looks like garbage but it works, I feel kinda proud :D

I could never get the hang of making CS maps let alone CS'S what do they use for CS'S editing?

I did make two for TFC, I had allot of problems at first, it took me a while to learn how to compile them using WorldCraft, a few minor bugs that I had some help with from some good guys I use to play with. I’m sure this one is going to be allot harder although it should be to long before some good tutorial Mpgs come out.
this site (http://www.game-edit.org/tutorials/halflife/tfc/camera_system/camera_system.html) showed me the basic starting point, But I got more help from planethalflife with the bugs I had.

For CS: S they use the new Hammer Editor which you can only get right now through Steam. It looks very similar to WorldCraft based on the pictures in that link.

if i am understanding correctly, You have to pre-order HL2 to get the SDK?

Yup, that's correct. When HL2 is officially released, a free SDK will be released also, but as of right now, you have to have pre-ordered HL2 in order to access it.

Right now i'm in the process of making a map similar to he_glass. I always found that map entertaining, plus the source effects make it quite interesting. If any of you want to try out my map right now, here's the link to it:

Note, its a very early build, no lighting, buyzones, and i still have to work out a few more things, but I like to think i'm starting to get the hang of it :)
