I have installed JRE 1.4.2_05 from java.com and I can not get it to intgrate with Firefox properly or it is misconfigured.

I run an application from a secure website and instead of loading, it keeps giving me an error in a Java box:

Hey, wait a minute!
You need to permit this download to use your Online Course.
Please close your browser. log back into the course, and choose
"Yes" or "Grant this Session."
The file is downloaded into your Temporary Internet Files,
and it won't affect any other programs.

I clicked "Grant Always" in the Java window when it asked me to install the application.

I allowed application install in my options for the website and the IP where the applications are coming from.

Any ideas what I might check to get this to work? The Java try Icon does launch when only firefox is active and I go to the site in question.

That was the first thing I tried. It generates an error saying Mozilla is not installed right. I did a search for Firefox on the java.com site and it states it support Firefox 0.8+

I think it may be a misconfiguration. This is the first time I have tried to run these specific Java apps in Firefox. Usually I am limited to a account at School and Work with IE 6.

It appears that the NETg courses I am trying to run will not work without IE.

I found this while searching:

I've been trying to get java to install with FF for ages, can't manage it, decided to ignore all the pages that have java applets.

Shame, as java is the language I need to write in for Uni :(
