My linksys wireless adapter is showing two different mac addresses. If I type ipconfig/all and look at the mac address that is labeled on the device, they match. Everything is OK. I downloaded the WLAN monitor for the wireless adapter, from the Linksys website, and it is reporting a different MAC address. When I sign into my router, I apply mac filtering using the mac address that is physically shown on the wireless adapter, which matches the one shown when I type ipconfig/all, right - and my router sees this same mac address when it searches for wireless adapters connected to it. Then...Flak. Nothing. I can't connect to the Internet. I can see the router, but I can't connect to it. I had to reset the router. Keep in mind, security was disabled. Why am I getting two different MAC addresses?

MAC addresses in most networking addresses can no be both hardware assigned (this will be on the sticker on your wireless card) and also software assigned. It is possible to change MAC addresses of netowrking devices within windows. It may be that the WLAN monitor you downloaded has changed the software assgined MAC address.
You can change this relavtivly easily if you do the following, I suggested to rule this out as an option you set the software MAC address to the same as the hardware one on the sticker.
To change it try the following
In devide manager right click your wireless network card, select the advance tab. Highlight network address in the property list and then set the value to your hardware mac address. Please not you do not need to add the - or the spaces just type the mac address in the form 001122334455
Good luck
