Code 101 means Interrupt failure
Have you changed anything in your system lately?

Heh,
I thought I was the only one getting that error. I have a cure for you.
I upgraded my HD from a seagate 3.2GB to a WD 6.4GB. here's what I did:
The drive was previusly installed in another computer and worked, so I tried fdisk no go, used partition magic deleted all data and partitions. Next, I fdisk successfully. Now to before I go further WD ez-bios was removed prior to any of the above. When I formated the drive and put an o/s on it I got your error on boot-up. I grabbed my other drive still bootable and went on the net for EZ-bios. Installed the EZ-bios on the WD and it let me boot and mirror all files from the smaller drive. I will go home tonight and see if I can remove it and if it gives me the same ROM ERROR. It's not your Cmos/Bios but the drive. According to Western Digital alot of bios' don't support large capacity drives.
Good luck and let me know what happened.

Hi!
Thanks you very much to Susan and Philipg for your answers.
To answer to the question of Susan, I didn't change anything in my system.
The problem is that I really can't boot, and it happens before that the BIOS starts... It does biiiiiiiip bip bip and then display the error message! Moreover it is not a desktop but a notebook, and i can't test it with other components like a HarDisk...
I call the Compaq's Hotline (because it is a compaq - http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif) and they said me that I must change the motherboard! But I trust the guy, He seemed not to be a really specialist (maybe a student...). And then i must send it back, but has no warranty anymore, and it will cost the price of a new one!!!
It is a Compaq Contura AERO 4/25.
If anyone knows anything about this, please help!
Thanks
