Having just done an upgrade to my pc i was looking forward to upping the resolution and features of RomeTW.
I had been playing it quite happily at 1084 but now it was time for 1260x1024.
The battles look great at that resolution but the campaign map doesn't look so good, the pictures of all your building and generals is somewhat pixellated, it's a bit weird having upped the resolution only to find it makes it look worse.

I don't think there's anything you can do about this but has anyone else noticed this?

If you have an ATI card, try setting mipmap detail to the high(quality) end of the slider

Hmm, there should be a similar option for Nvidia also.

Try fiddling around with detail settings in your display properties. I know that with my 9800Pro, if some settings were set all the way to performance, certain things in games such as NFSU looked horrible. However, switching them back to "quality" got rid of that problem.

Had a look in the nvidia settings and sure enough under performance & quality i had the option to increase the quality which i did and there was also a force mipmaps which was set to none so i set it at bilnear.
Did all that set the campaign map to 1280x1024 and.....no difference.
I'd love to hear from anyone with the game to see what they'res looks like as i feel the little gif's or jpegs or whatever they are, are made to show best at 1024 on that screen.

Greymack, I just got the game now, and after installing it and setting to 1280x1024, I couldn't see what you were describing. Perhaps you could post a screenshot? You can typically do so by using the PrtSc button on your keyboard or a program like FRAPS.

Strangest thing.
I took a screengrab of the campaign map in 1024 and also in 1280 when i looked at them in photoshop they were identical yet on the screen the 1280 shows the construction queue buildings as being very jaggy.
