LONDON (Reuters) - A British train conductor stamped and carefully returned the ticket of a slumbering passenger without realizing the man was dead.
Shortly afterwards the train pulled into York station in northern England and rail staff alerted paramedics when they realized the man was not breathing.

"The conductor needn't have been so careful, as it turned out that the passenger had expired, long before his ticket ever did," said a report in the British Transport Police's staff magazine.

This sort of thing happens quite frequently.
Also, people working in posh hotels see a lot of dead people too.
Its not uncommon for elderly guests to book into a luxurious suite for a night and pop several bottles of pills and not wake up.
They just want to have a bit of the 'good life' before they go.
One of London's top hotels has about 3 old grannies go this way every week.
Its not known if the manager's name is Basil Fawlty. (http://www.fawltysite.net/episode10.htm)

In New York the conductor would have snatched his wallet and then stamped his ticket.
