Just cleaning up some hardware that's taking up space...

My Samsung 950P (19") starting acting up a few months back - a nice pink/purple hue over the entire display. It started off as an intermittent problem but eventually became constant. The signal cable was replaced with a known good cable but the problem persisted... so the display was set aside.

Is there any point in having it repaired or would the cost of potential repairs for such a problem near that of a new 19" display?

Is it past its 3-year manufacturer's warranty?

Has it been exposed to a strong magnetic field?

Last year I was fooling around with a Neodymium(sp?) magnet. A friend grabbed it and tried to stick it to the side of his TV. The right half was pink for a month before it went away

No magnetic fields were involved and the monitor is nearly a year outside of the original warranty. I may have potentially had a warranty extension through VISA but I did not have the proper paperwork that showed both the purchase date and method of payment (VISA).

A color gun is dead or dying. Yes, it's eternally pink.

This is exactly what my thoughts were... which is why i've already replaced the monitor - it was my primary display. If possible it would have been nice to use the Samsung on my second workstation if repair was affordable. Oh well...
