control panel error

When trying to get to display properties I get the error msg. "An w\error occurred while Windows was working with the Control Panel C:\windows\system\desk.cpl" So my friend is stuck at 640X480. I think this problem came around when he switched his viper550 for the creative model tnt. I put powerstip on here now, but...any sugestions?

The problem is arising from the inappropriate or non-removal of the Diamond Incontrols utility and/or driver.

First make sure you have the lastest drivers for the TNT card, download them if necessary.

Then go to the following link for information on how to edit the corresponding registry entries for the fix. After that is done, install the latest driver/utilities according to the manufacturer's directions.
