I have been using a dos program which I could access from an icon on my Windows desktop while in Windows. I no longer need the program (was through my job) and would like to remove it from my hard drive. How do I go about getting rid of it?
Thanks,
Robert

find the "root" or main directory of that program and see if windows has any registry calls to it before you delete the directory and the desktop icon for it...
If it truly is a DOS program, it will be unaware of the Windows registry, and any entries there will be incidental (such as the MRU entries - Most Recently Used). You should be able to simply delete the folder containing the DOS program (so long as thats ALL it contains).
Just a reminder - Do NOT simply delete Windows programs, if at all possible uninstall them. If they do not have an uninstall icon or shortcut, check for the program in the Control Panel "Add/Remove" programs applet, and remove it from there.
