I recently purchased a Matsonic EM5571 motherboard (manufactured by Eurone) with integrated IntelTX-Pro II AGP Video and SoundPro sound. I'm running a 233MMX processor with 64MB RAM (EDO) but was never able to configure my onboard video or audio (I had to hardware bypass the video, and disable the SoundPro in bios). Now I'm able to run my VooDoo3 2000 PCI, and at least see what I'm doing, but after purchasing a Soundblaster Live! card, and running the configuration without a glitch, it doesn't work. I get a code 8 in device manager, but it shows no conflicts. It recommends that I try re-installing the drivers or contactining the hardware manufacture.
Soundblaster says "it must be a bad motherboard", but I hesitate taking their advice without proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are correct.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!!

I have installed three sound blaster live sound cards. It has never been a simple install. Have you tried re-installing the card? (uninstall, shut down, physically remove the card, reboot without card, shut down, plug card back in, etc. )? Twice I had to do that and it worked fine. If you can get it to work and have a good set of speakers, you will really like it.....

Been there, Done that. Spent a total of seven hours on the phone with SoundBlaster. I know their customer support has been taking a lot of flak lately, but I can only say that I'm extremely satisfied with their support.
BTW, we removed, booted, reinstalled, re-booted a total of five times, and we went as far as editing Windows registry, and manually deleting directories and files from the DOS Prompt.
I think the next step is to slick the hard drive and start from scratch, reloading motherboard drivers, etc...

I don't know about Sound Blaster, but I do know about installing the onboard sound of your mobo. To install the onboard sound you should run the installation program that came on the CD. For more info check:
www.pcware.com (http://www.pcware.com) for the motherboard M571 (identical with your mobo).
Good luck,
Ion
PS The video should work fine too

I've installed the motherboard drivers for the SoundPro, the VGA and the USB from the drivers disk. This was the first thing I did when powered up with the ATI video board. When I powered up with the onboard video, I received no audible POST codes, and I had no video. After installing the ATI card (from another system) and changing the jumper, the video worked, and I installed the drivers for audio, video and usb. I then powered down, changed the video jumper and powered back up with the same result (no video, no sound, etc...)

Hey I finally got that MS6260s to post, and beep. I don't know why all I did was pick-up another stick of memory, remove the Banshee card because of the old monitor can't handle the new AGP cards and installed the old diamond stealth64 card and things started to work. I don't understand why I did'nt get no beeps without the memory installed

Mike,
Glad to hear it! I have had some limited success as well, I am up and running with my old Stealth 64 video card and the Soundblaster Live, but now I have a $120 video card running in my old P166MMX. Doesn't quite seem right to me! Wish I could return the video and sound card, and get the onboard components working, but I guess I should be satisfied that I can use both systems now.
