Farcry v1.3 patch

After a false start back in July, Ubi Soft now sends along the long-awaited new patch for Far Cry, bringing the tropical island first-person shooter by Crytek Studios to version 1.3. This release includes all the changes (and addresses the hardware incompatibilities) of the recalled version 1.2 patch, as well new graphics enhancements, gameplay and multiplayer tweaks, bug fixes, and more. Also available is the first dedicated Linux server, complete with documentation.

Since I am now playing D 3 over for the second time..I will download this new patch and replay that again sometime with the new enhancements..ectt. and see..

nah. haven't had time yet. I don't even have the game loaded on my rig right now. werk sucks. :(

Well i tried it. It runs better on my Radeon 9800pro, if you have directx9.0c and this patch. it's not choping any where any more.

Thanks for the info thread link....

Looks like this patch won't do much for me or my current VC as all of it pertains to the next generation cards...

What I am wondering is would trying the game with the patch effect my game now after installing it anyway?

Am going to replay it tonight some for the third time through....

I think this game still needs the highest bus speeds to play the very best without any strain whatsoever....

Since I have a FX5900 card there are about three places in the entire game which slow motion to a crawl..but this is for only a short scene or two..all the rest looks and plays great...

For ATI owners this patch should be a real advantage and vast improvement...

Addition... After playing it with the new patch it does seem improved a great deal...even for last genration cards..as the lighting in the overall graphics is better and the colors are richer in hue and texture...

I wonder if they did anything with the game itself as i swear there are more enemies this time around after replaying challenging mode...and they are faster with more AI...:p

How about multiplayer? Anybody tried multiplayer with the new 1.3 patch? Does it plaly any better? What did they fix for multiplayer if anything?

I would say that from all I read in the patch info...about 75 per cent were MP fixes and improvements...and no I myself have not played it yet....

Do they have to make a MP for evry game out there as some games I do not see the point of or think ahead that they just would not be any good anyway ....
