Thanks to the hlfallout crew:

German PC Games magazine is, as expected, going to feature Half-Life 2 in their November issue. The 16 page article includes an Interview with Gabe Newell as well as Clans commenting on Counter-Strike: Source. Quoting the editor in chief, Dirk Gooding:

This game actually does not need a rating, it needs a monument.

Even without the need for a rating, HL2 scored not quite unexpected 96%.

methinks it should be better than Doom 3...less of "go to this room, push this button" and more of an ability to explore the wide open spaces that the source engine is capable of rendering.

yeah..it does get cramped and a bit boring or exhausting having to constantly do the same general thing of push step fight and go on in cramped quarters...a very good argument to the negative about Doom 3 ( even though I like the game alot)

A game such as FarCry was such a joy to play for this reason ( open air and expanse)

I think the debate among gamers about better use of AI in games is very strong point..and maybe one of the top two in how good a game is and how intersting it will be.

HL 2 is just unigue in the way it renders graphics and the overall makeup and storyline...nothing quite like it out there.

Games also coming out like a Stalker or Fear copy this concept somewhat...and i believe this game will set a new trend of what games might become or live up to.

Give me real lifelike animations in humans and scenery and a good stroyline and anyone will be drawn in as a result...

The most accurate benchmark right now is the Video Stress Test from CS: S
