When trying to reconfigure my addon card setup, if I try using any of my remaining free PCI slots, I get a 'resource conflict' with my sound card, or if I put my NIC in another slot, it merely can't be accessed... I'm not sure if my PCI Steering holder isn't functioning properly, as their is usually nothing else sharing the IRQ... i've tried removing/booting/readding cards, swapping cards, changing bios options (pnp os, auto/manual resources, resetting config data, etc)... I'm running a Micro-Star MS-5184 mb with a K6-2 350.. any ideas would be appreciated, before i get fed up and bring it into the shop.. thanks http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

You might have already tried this, but when I get a weird conflict that just won't go away, I delete the offending items in device manager and let Windows find and install them all at once.

With a super7 system you should not put any card in the PCI slot that is right next to the AGP port. So if you are running out of slots and trying to use the PCI slot next to the AGP - then that is your problem.

sorry, what was here was posted by mistake:::

BTW - 8B&ELF, the @$$ part was probably slang - you know , an American colloquialism, jargon, and not anything to do with an actual donkey..

beware giving too much power to mere words

Did I miss the part about the Donkey? I like animals, especially beasts of burden. - Elf

He used the word without consideration. There always are better ways of expressing frustration. - 8-Ball

One trick that seems to work fairly well in Win 95 is to remove the PCI Bus in device mgr, then reboot. Alignment of PCI devices takes place.
