BOOT: couldnīt find NTLDR
please insert another disk
why does it do this
and i cant get in to win 98 again either even if i use a win 98 bootdisc

Any time you want to get into win, just use FDisk /MBR. That should get you there.
Did you FDisk your whole disk to large disk support? That's Fat32, which NT cannot read.

I never figured out why, but NT completely disabled a Syjet disk of mine, which was running perfectly for some time. It wasn't until I remove NT that I was able get the disk running again.
Must be how NT see's the HD info from BIOS???
The only thing I can think is to try changing your BIOS HD info and see if that helps.
I'm not that adept in NT, sorry. Anyone?

Doesn't sound good for your drive http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
Couple of things...I once had a BIOS disable and destoy the data on my HD because the BIOS needed to be updated. See if your MB has a BIOS update for setting the correct HD parameters.
And, at this point, you may need to get the low-level format utility from the mfg. of the HD to repair the drive. Is that drive under warrantee by any chance? It could be going.

NT needs an "active" DOS partition to install. Since you already have 98 on the active partition NT cannot find a place to install. Oh I just reread your post and you said no FAT32. Are you absolutely sure? Run fdisk and select option 4 to display partition information to be sure. Look for the A that marks the active partition.
