But it will be a solid running computer. ive gotta dell. modded it up a bit and wanted a new mobo for it though, but i need to save for a holiday now. dont get the X800se. its not too good a card. but you should be happy with a dell. So I ordered the 8400 with the 3.4Ghz and 1G 533mhz memory along with other goodi's. The Price was $2780 but because work orderd 37 computers the discount brought it down to only $1100. And this 21" Ultra Flat panel ROCKS!!! I'd been an AMD guy for a long time but this new system kicks but!!! Old System - Amd 3200(liguid cooled), MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R motherboard, 1G of Corsair XMS512-3700 memory (X2), 9600 Ati pro Video, oh hell I had an awsome system OC'd to the max. But the Dell beats it in every test I've thrown at it. I'll keep my old system for gaming though. Oh and I've had no problems with the X800 se so far, It's done a great job with DOOM3 and RUNE, and UT. porsch1909 10-20-2004, 08:17 AM You cant overclock the 8400 thought can u? so did you get that computer free on the business??? cause that really unfair!! thomasmeisch 10-20-2004, 09:46 PM No I can't overclock the 8400, but I new that from working with the Dell's at work. No It wasn't free but little more then 1/2 off the full price made it a bargin. It's been fun building my own systems, but for the price and time to get top of the line stuff, it just doesn't add up when you compared it to complete systems. My first system was a 486/33 boosted to 486/66!!! and installing Win95!!!!(or trying to  ) and a wopping 64MB of ram!!! lol I spent good money on my AMD 64 system and its one hell of a gamming system, but to my surprize, the Dell 8400 is just as fast and has alot more software, games and extras. Course I would not have given it a thought had it not been so cheap!! easyamp 11-10-2004, 10:26 AM If you doubt the performance of the x800 se go to http://www.glexcess.com/xsmark click view others results and filter for ati/intel combo. My user name is sueddaht. Right out of the box this systems beats others with faster processors and Ati 9800 pro's, not a good card, WHAT? porsch1909 11-10-2004, 01:39 PM But try putting hte X800 se against the X800 pro or any other new generation card. then it will be embarrased i think you will find. easyamp 11-11-2004, 01:25 AM I agree the x800 xt/pro versions of this card are faster then the SE but the're all the same gen, heck they are more or less the same card, with some bandwidth limting. My dream card is still the 256mb x800 saphire or hopefully the upcoming 512mb Radeon cards. I alsao heard matrox is coming out with some new card?? The x800 se is fast for the money but purists will still want the fastest. dell8200 11-11-2004, 11:59 PM the 512 meg video will be memory address hog SysOpt.com
