My system always freezes/lockups while I'm playing 3D games like NFS4 etc and almost every games I have. I have the latest drives & BIOS for my both motherboard & CL RIVA TNT but it doesn't help to solve this. Anyone experiance the same? How to solve this? Is it an overheat problems?

My system specifications:

AMD K6-2 300MHz CXT
Creative Labs RIVA TNT
64MB PC100 SDRAM
Yamaha Sound Card
40X Acer CD-ROM

All of the hardware are not overclocked

I have the stb tnt. And it runs fine however I am on a celeron. My bro has the same card and is running an AMD he had similar prblems. I think that it has to do with heat. Try opening the case and put a box fan or other room fan on the computer and see if this helps if it does you might want to invest in some case fans.

Same problem on any TNT will occur if the AGP/FSB ratio is set to 1/1 and the FSB is set to 100Mhz.

If you are running the AMD at 3x100 you should check the AGP speed.

I agree with w/BC and BBA.Check how your card is setup, and make sure it's kept"cool"!Vidio cards have reached the point were they should be shipped with a heat sink and fan attached(just like most CPU's)If your problem is cooling, check out computernerd.com.Personally,I bought a I-Storm HD/case blower(it's quiet and moves a lot of air)and removed the rear slot cover below the my TNT card,so air would move across the board....Good Luck....DawgTuff.

Is that the PCI or AGP version of TNT?

I've got the AGP and it runs fantastic, but a friend of mine owns the PCI and the chip seems to run hot.
