I am trying to copy a program from one computer to another. I am getting this error:

Unable to write to disk in drive c:
data or files my be lost.

I think my hd is bad or is going bad I do not want to continue any futher if this is the case. I have ran scaan disk but found nothing. Are there better scan disk prog. that work better or one that check more things that are bad?

Do they have software on them?

If your drives are brand new install them into the system and see if the BIOS recognize them. If yes you MUST FORMAT them first.

Make sure virus protection in the BIOS is off, too.

yes these drives have software on them. At least they are supposed to. the first ones does for sure. The second one i don't know about. And the mobo is to old to have virus protection on it. And the bios sees them.
