hi, i just bought hl2 via steam and have been playing cs source, i just got a simple question, would it be a better idea to run the in game AA/AF or should i set it on my video card settings? Thats all thanks in advance!

I'd recommend setting your video card to "application preference" for AA and AF, and then change the settings in-game. It seems to be more responsive for me when I did that, my system is similar to yours (2700+ 1 gig 3200, 9800P) and I get decent framerates at 10x7, everthing high and 2x AA/AF.
