I am facing the strange problem and I hope someone can help. My PC was working fine until suddenly, the display went dead. Tried all things, checked connectors, pushed in video card etc. but still no sign of life in the monitor. I plug the monitor to another PC and the display is fine. So, I started to do the following-

1st suspected spoilt video card: However, when I brought it back to the vendor for testing, it was okay. Display normal.

2nd suspected motherboard AGP slot burnt (due to overclocking): Brought back to vendor, again everthing was okay. Booted up and display okay.

3rd suspected power supply problem: Brought the whole PC to vendor and when they booted it up, the display came on fine!!!

I am desperate. I am thinking of buying another monitor but not sure if that will really solve the problem. It seems strange that the system works at the vendor but not at home.

Someone help me too!!! I am at my wits end. Thanks.

Maybe you have a problem with AC supply
at your home. What else is on that circut.

Possibly the cable from the video card to the monitor, is bad (short in cable or bent pin on one of the connectors).

If the monitor has a removeable power cord, replace that first!! did you use the same power cord at office??
does it have a indicator lamp (LED) on front to tell if Power is on??? was that off also....did you tapp (beat http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif ) on the monitor when it was working? shake cables, no too hard though.hehe dont want to make more problems
