Read review of scktA mobo which had the gigE and other nf3 goods on the older platform, cannot now recall which manufacturer it was.
If memory serves correctly, it did NOT have soundstorm like the nf2 based boards, but it looked very interesting. I saved it, but have had to subsequently reformat/reload widows and hence lost the site.
Any help here? Thanx in advance....hope to buy one in which to use my tbred and the oodles of ddr I have layin' around.
It might have ben anandtech, but I just perused it quickly and didn't locate it.

Thanx fot the verbose but expeditious reply crusious31.
Thats sumpin' like it, but it was not an msi, and they made claim to nf3 chipset, unlike the clear nf2 reference in your post.
Thanx for suggestion. DAmmit, wish I could remember, me thinks I've overheated my organic memory lobes and toasted 'em but good! I can recall mundane useless minutia, but couldn't tell ya where I left my keys last, or even my own cel#. Hell, even Einstein himself was proud of NOT knowing his own phone, quoting " i don't need it for I never call myself.."

nForce 3 chipsets are not for socket A. They are for Athlon 64 processors which are Socket 754 and 939

You are technically corect sir: however in last 3 weeks I read solid review of said mobo, that essentially was an N3 for socket A.
It was very interesting, solid performing,o/c able, and aside from loss of soundstorm, was almost compelling for me to purchase immediately. Unfortunately was not yet available that day or I would have. It should be available by now, but lost my bookmark and suffered cerebral flatulence in the interim.
Pls re-read the original post for further clarification, and thanx fer playin, contestant 2!
My googlin' didn't divulge relevant hit, but i'm gonna hunt that sucker down and KILL it.
Btw what does the moniker refer to? I sure like my 64 tin indian topless gran turismo 'omologato with tripower 389. A more-recent 428 dual quad is about to be shoe horned between those a-body fenderwells.
To draw analogy, one could posit that ponchos 428 was for post 69 b-bodies, but some would digress.

Doubt it.

Whats your original post going to clarify? It states you are looking for a board that is socket A, with GbE and other NF3 goods. It doesnt state anything about the board having the NF3 chipset.

In your second post you said "and they made claim to nf3 chipset"
If its not a NF3 chipset and its not a NF2 chipset, what is it?

So much skepticism! Certainly a healthy degree is requisite, but not so much to close your minds!!
Continuing search, originally accessed that tidbit of nf3 chipset features added to socketa platform, was on reasonably respected site (anand, hocp,?) using a clients pc her favorites list.
It looked very attractive for an older platform.
I will find it and repost link.
So sorry to step on any toes, just tryin' to a) find it for purchase myself and
b) spread the joy:confused:
